In 2007, The Fund for Peace Initiatives (FFPI) began co-production and management of the Nobel Peace Laureates, Social Entrepreneurs, and Artists Portrait Project, a project designed to highlight the people and stories of some of the preeminent peace builders, social entrepreneurs and artists of our world. There are four main components to the Nobel Peace Laureates, Social Entrepreneurs and Artists Portrait Project:

• a fine art portraiture book with accompanying descriptions of the work, lives and inspirations of the Nobel Peace Laureates, social entrepreneurs and artists;
• a complimentary curriculum for middle and high school students that will accompany the book;
• a traveling art and education exhibit; and
• a Nobel Peace Laureates, Social Entrepreneurs and Artists Portrait Project web site. [Full Story]

The inaugural effort of The Fund for Peace Initiatives is "The Architects of Peace", an educational project launched in January of 2003. The "Architects of Peace" project includes a photographic exhibit drawn from works of award-winning photographer, Michael Collopy. The exhibit displays 45 images with accompanying biographies and quotations of prominent peacemakers including Mother Theresa, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Nelson Mandela, Shimon Peres, Billy Graham, Jane Goodall and Mikhail Gorbachev. In 2005, The Fund for Peace Initiatives (FFPI) began working with a traveling multimedia art exhibition called "The Missing Peace: Artists' Contemplate the Dalai Lama." The Fund for Peace Initiatives (FFPI) assisting in the fundraising efforts of the project and developed and published "The Art of Peace" Cards to accompany the Missing Peace Art Exhibit. Each of the 13 art cards in the packet highlights an image from the exhibit along with information about the artist, the type of art and a series of questions to engage the child and foster interaction between the art and the child. In 2004, The Fund for Peace Initiatives provided institutional support for the Global Security Institute (GSI) of San Francisco, California, and its work in advocating multilateral support for nuclear non-proliferation. FFPI provided funds to GSI and also supported GSI at symposia at the Carter Center in Atlanta, Georgia, and at the United Nations in New York City.

In 2005, FFPI assisted the Center for Non-Proliferation Studies (CNS), Monterey Institute in fundraising activities that resulted in a grant that allowed CNS to further their work in identifying and quantifying heavily enriched uranium (HEW) stockpiles in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union.

In November of 2004, The Fund for Peace Initiatives raised money, organized board activities and helped managed club programs for the St. Francis of Assisi Boys' Club in East Palo Alto, California. The Club supports underserved youth ages 9-14 with after-school enrichment activities that include homework assistance, computer training, field trips, sports and art activities, and daily adult and peer mentoring.

Begining in November 2005, The Fund for Peace Initiatives (FFPI) began fundraising and early stage organizational development assistance for a violence prevention program called "For Youth By Youth". For Youth By Youth offers violence prevention classes, counseling and casework. The program's model is based on the Omega Boy's Club in San Francisco and is the only program in San Mateo County that deals with violence at its root within the individual.
